Track and Field Project Update
The Board of Education has been advised that 40% of $1.766 million of the field portion of the track and field improvement project will be provided in debt service aid if the Board decides to move forward with a synthetic turf field with organic or natural fill. The total cost associated with the full track and organic fill turf field project is $2.172 million. Debt service aid was not approved for that portion of the project which the state considers to be for the construction of a new track. The Board plans to make a decision at its August 19th meeting as to whether or not to seek community approval for such a project through a referendum in December or January. The Board meeting on August 19th will begin at 7:00 in the School Library.
